A handsome solid mahogany desktop standish (a 15th-century term referring to a stand for writing materials) holds its original crystal inkwells with brass fittings, has a drawer and a beautifully satinwood-and-boxwood cross-banded top.  A brass plaque dedicated this stand to Lt. Col. H. M. Caddell on July 1, 1918.
